Collage and Shadowboxes

Early into CoVid19, I was invited to participate in a playing card deck project through the Provincetown Commons and collage made sense. Then I got involved in various collage challenges on Instagram as the protests over the death of George Floyd began. Not all of these collages are a result of those challenges, but most of them include birds or things with wings. I also did a series of shadowboxes, some of which include images from my paintings. And while the collages are different from the bird portraits, there is a cohesiveness in the face of isolation and melancholy; it all ties together.
